Join Make-A-Wish® Northeastern California and Northern Nevada in our upcoming volunteer trainings. You can be a part of granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in our community.

The dedication of our volunteers is what makes our mission possible. With more than 300 volunteers throughout our chapter working in wish granting, special events, community relations, corporate fund raising, public speaking and other critical areas, help is welcome and extremely valued. When you become a Make-A-Wish volunteer you can share the power of a wish® and impact the lives of Northeastern California and Northern Nevada children. We appreciate your time and commitment to helping individuals in our local communities, whether you give a few hours each month or a few days each year. At the heart of our mission, we cherish our volunteers for making wishes come true. We invite you to join our growing family by signing up for an upcoming training where experienced volunteers and professional staff provide information and support for new volunteers.

This training is for new volunteers interested in learning more about Make-A-Wish. Drinks and snacks provided! Location: The Wishing Place, 2800 Club Center Drive, Sacramento, CA 95835.

About Make-A-Wish®

Make-A-Wish® Northeastern California and Northern Nevada was established in 1983 as one of the early local chapters of Make-A-Wish® America, which is the leading wish-granting organization in the country.  Since then, it has granted more than 5,600 wishes to children within its 37-county service area. The mission of Make-A-Wish® is to grant wishes to children, age 2 ½ to 18, with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Editor’s Note:

ModestoView loves to support the Make-A-Wish foundation. A team was at the Sacramento Make-a-Wish walk recently on August 13th 2016, to walk in memory of Maria Jo Mitchell, who’s wish came true only 3 months before she passed. Make-A-Wish sent her to New York to watch her beloved Yankees play a game in 1989. She got to meet the team and get an autographed ball, thanks to this amazing organization.

Last year, we were honored to witness a local young lady, Amariyanna “Mars” Anderson, have her wish come true at the Vintage Faire Mall. Kay Jewelers awarded her a necklace of her choice for her prom. You can read the story here.

We hope you will also support Make-A-Wish in any capacity that you are able. Thank you!
