The PreView –

Graffiti Summer 2014 By Chris Murphy

ModestoUSA is where Graffiti Summer lives all year long. June is coming faster than you think and many of our hall of fame American Graffiti events start in May this year. People from all over the world come to Modesto to experience the place that was the inspiration for George Lucas’ milestone movie. Downtown Modesto features the Historic Cruise Route that is a walking history tour of the music and Graffiti experiences of Modesto. The new Walk of Fame will be unveiled on June 4 in 10th St Place. The legendary N. Modesto Kiwanis American Graffiti Car Show and the Cruise Parade will be on June 6 featuring the Grand Marshall, Bart Bartoni and the other Walk of Fame inductees. Big news this year is that the Cruise Parade will go up McHenry this year. Yes, good times will be had by all and the show of classic chrome and cars will fill our streets all summer.

This will be an epic Graffiti Summer with will lead off with the showing of the 1973 film American Graffiti at the vintage historic State Theatre on May 31. Use our handy dandy guide of events so you don’t miss a thing.

So Modesto, let’s get our Graffiti on! If you are a business, plan some great cruisin’ events and promotions. Have your employees dress retro and play the music from 1956 – 1964. This is our time, this is our story and this is who we are! ModestoUSA is the home of American Graffiti and we should be proud.
