Louis Bland is the epitome of cool, calm, and collected. People love him deeply within Stanislaus County and he has always been respected for his amazing football abilities. He is a soft-spoken man who loves his wife Lisa and their three sons to the moon and back. Those are all nice qualities to have, yet they are not the reasons why I sat down with him to chat. I wanted to discuss this little fun fact: Louis Bland, is now an Amazon #1 Best Selling Author! He has written a page-turner about his life titled, Awakening of An American Football Player. I wanted to find out exactly what made him decide to write this book and graciously, he obliged.
For most of Louis Bland’s life, he had always planned on becoming a writer. Initially, he wanted to write movie scripts. Then his mother passed away. Her death was quite a blow, but after that, Louis became even more determined to write his story and his mother inspired him to complete his dream. It was also his way to pay homage to her life because, as he stated, “Even though my siblings and I lacked material things, my mother always showed unconditional love and support. She let all of her children know that we could be anything we wanted in life!”
Louis Bland believes that looking at life should be similar to looking at a blank canvas. I asked him to elaborate, and this is what he said, “A blank canvas allows for a multitude of life choices. We are responsible for creating our own destiny. The human brain is powerful, and we should create our own “Awakening” by exploring all the wonderful things we can accomplish when we don’t limit ourselves, but instead, imagine the possibilities. When searching for our own “Awakening” we should always focus on what inspires us, or simply start with the age-old question: Who Am I? Answer that question, and then find out what you really want to achieve during your lifetime and be specific. Everyone has a story to tell. You never know, sometimes your story can inspire others. So, get your story out there.”
