A Farewell to BRAATA – Aug 16

Over the last 6 years BRAATA has become a favorite not just in the local Reggae Community but in the Nor Cal Music Community.

They have played just about everywhere from Cafes to Festivals and everything in between. They played X-Fest, Plea for Peace, Blackwater and Reggae in the Hills, they won a MAMA for Best Pop Rock band in 2011 and have been seen on Good Morning Sacramento. There have been a few lineup changes over the years but that is to be expected, especially for a six piece band who’s members were all in high school when they began this magical trip.

Formed in 2008, Amanda Gray is the sole remaining original and youngest member of the group, her voice, song writing and stage presence are all part of what made BRAATA great. Early on Aaron Mooradian(Sax/Keys) and Colin Boyd(Bass) joined the band and have held down the melodies and rhythm; Ryan Blogett(Drums) and David Baumboch(Guitar)round out the current lineup.

The band has finished a new Ep and will be releasing it on August 16th 8pm at the Brewhouse 821 L St Modesto Ca. It will be a bittersweet celebration because they have decided to call it a day. With members moving on and away it has been decided they will hang up their collective hat that is BRAATA and concentrate on other things. Join KeepItLit, Skunk Funk and Abbey James as they rock the Valley one last time with BRAATA. We will miss dancing and grooving to the live sounds but will have the music you have recorded and given to all of us.
