Greetings Modesto Fans:
This is so exciting. ModestoView Magazine is back! Over the last two years, I have been to so many places, different events, along the bike trail, at the Modesto High pool where so many people have told me how much they missed ModestoView Magazine. I am so very proud to say that we are back and here to serve you, the out and about, the interesting, the engaged, the active, the fun, the crazy, the idealistic, the creative, the curious people here in the greater Modesto area. Whether you have lived here for 50 years, 2-weeks, only visiting or thinking about visiting, ModestoView is your place to find the things and the places to be to experience the best of what we have.
It is amazing that I still happen upon people that think that there is nothing to do in our town. ModestoView.com has been spreading the positive Modesto word every single day since 1997, when we launched originally as “PlazaCam.com” tracking the construction of 10th St Place. ModestoView.com was soon expanded by Expedition/SiteJockey with Scott Campbell and soon created Modesto’s first live webcasts showcasing the millennial fireworks on 1,1,2000 and then the first MAMA Awards and the very first B93 (B92.9 now) Acoustic Christmas shows later that year featuring Flying Blind. 2006-2008 saw the first ModestoView magazines where we changed the way we all looked at arts, entertainment, community, music and dining. So, after a brief hiatus, we are back, better than ever, in 32 page full color to vividly celebrate all that is happening and how you can get involved and get out and do something.
The driving force for ModestoView Version 2.0 is my friend Greg Cobb and his son Kyle who delivered the energy and the excitement to reach out to the local businesses and organizations to generate the advertising here in ModestoView that makes it possible to deliver this to you and the hundreds of free pick up locations all over Stanislaus County. You will all be excited to know that most of our writers are back and we welcome new contributors like Ian Hill formerly of the Stockton Record/209Vibe and Ruban Porras aka ModestoFamous. Noah Juergenson and Elliot Gage drive ModestoView.com and Noel Rocha is our designer. Special thanks to my wife Becky and my daughters Madison and Abbey who always remind me how exciting life can be when we take time to notice what is around us and enjoy each other.
We all need work together to create a fun and exciting way to promote all that is happening in our town. Tell your friends about things happening, follow our tweets, be our Facebook friends, and spread the work about the good things that happen here. If we do this, there will be more events, more shows, more new businesses and we will see a better and more thriving greater Modesto area. ModestoView is for you and hope you enjoy it. It is great to be back and we hope you find something new and fun to do today.
