AcousticView by Matty Comer As I look at a calendar for this upcoming year, my thoughts start to race as sounds flood my mind. We, as The Acoustic Rock Society, have had a distinct opportunity to witness and be a part of some amazing opportunities within our own community of downtown Modesto.
I will never forget the crowds that came out for Marirose in the plaza last August or being able to watch a dear friend, Doug Robinett and his daughter, share the stage for the first time and absolutely shine in the process! Local music is alive and we are so proud to be a small part of the vast Modesto music scene.
So, knowing that we need a winter venue, the last few months we have been searching for something that could accommodate what we do. The Acoustic Rock Society has signed on for a series of shows at The Lower Level Studio located in the basement on the corner of 11th and J Street. We will be working hand and hand with Traci Sprague and Megan Lynch who are the amazing ladies who run the black box theatre at the venue. We had our first show on December 9th and in our opinion, it was a huge success. We are extremely happy to have a stage for our local musicians to stand and grow upon in front of their own families and friends.
