Happy Spring Modesto! We kicked off the season with some beautiful sunny days as well as some beautiful rainy ones. The best way to enjoy this weather is to get outside of course. The most exciting event coming up this month, I believe, is Earth Day at Graceada Park on the 20th! There will be games, local vendors, businesses, and clubs. This is the perfect all ages event. ModestoView will have a kids coloring booth there too.
With this season also comes spring cleaning. If you are not sure what to do with the items you do not want anymore here are some ideas. First, your old clothes and household items can go to local thrift stores such as Hope Chest which has two locations, both on McHenry, and benefits Community Hospice. The Salvation Army has a truck also located on McHenry Avenue and is another great place to contribute to. Any old books can be given to My Little Libraries which have been popping up all over many neighborhoods. Also, animal rescue organizations such as Pupz and Palz are looking for used and clean, dog beds or blankets as well as newspapers and they have a collection bin right inside of Petco on Evergreen @ Briggsmore. Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center is also looking for items such as paper towels, puppy pads, used receiving blankets, Kleenex (for bird nests) and Dawn dishwashing liquid. They will even be having a baby animal shower event on April 6th which would be a perfect time to bring these donations in. Help out our furry little friends and our wonderful community this April
