Pumpkin seeds, sporting events, fallen leaves, and of course Halloween. October is finally here! This month is one of the most eventful of the year, every weekend there is something super fun to do. My Friday nights will be spent cheering on the football field. Come show your school spirit at your favorite high school’s football games. However, football isn’t the only sport going on right now.
The previous writer for the All-Ages section of the Modesto View was the talented water polo player Abbey Murphy. Though I’ve never tried the sport, I plan to support my school’s team. Soccer, Cross Country, Golf, Volleyball are also all having games and meets. All of the school’s sport event dates should be on their websites.
Now, I’ve always been heard that Downey’s drama program looks professional. After seeing West Side Story, I completely agree. They have music, dancing, crazy characters, and most importantly, a ton of fun! Make sure to come see Downey’s, “Little Shop of Horrors” this month. It is showing October 24th, 25th and November 1st at 7:30 pm as well as November 2nd at 2:30 pm. There will be a special showing on Halloween at 10:00pm complete with a costume contest. Students $6 and General Admission $8. It will be a trip you won’t regret making!
The Modesto’s Boy’s and Girl’s Club will be hosting a family friendly haunted house in our very own McHenry Mansion from October 24th to the 30th. The admission is only five dollars, and children under the age of five get in for free. There will be fun games, pumpkin painting, and spooky, goofy encounters. To find more information and to purchase tickets, check out www.hauntedhousemodesto.com. I hope to see all of you out in the community soon, whether it’s in the stands, the auditorium or a haunted mansion!
