What’s up, Modesto? I hope you have all enjoyed your summer, and are settling into the new school year. September is one of my favorite months because it means that football games are starting. It’s so fun to come to support my school’s team at Downey high school. I also get the privilege to dance during halftime at our home games with Downey Danceline. Our Dance team has been around for almost 13 years, and it is my favorite extracurricular. It’s awesome to have our school come together and cheer on our fellow Knights. Whether you’re an alumnus, parent, or sibling, be true to your school and support the team. Anyone is welcome to any high school football game. Be there at 7 pm!
One of my favorite things to do here in Modesto is to experience a show at the Gallo center. It is the fifteenth anniversary! The beautiful center has been around since 2007. Our generous community has helped establish the Gallo center as the amazing arts and entertainment center it currently is. It has served over a million students and patrons since its opening. I have even had the amazing opportunity to perform there multiple times. There are several off-Broadway shows. There is a new broadway show tour happening right now. The first show is “Cats!” I have already purchased my tickets for the show, and I can’t wait. The show is on September 17th. There will also be a 15th anniversary gala on September 24th. There will also be a “to kill a mockingbird” production from September 30th until October 8th. I hope you all look into seeing a show at this gorgeous center. Have a wonderful September, Modesto.
