Happy Fall! This is one of my favorite times of year, especially watching the leaves change color. It reminds me of many special things this month

Brown: Brownie Girl Scouts is when I started Girl Scouts, but it’s never too late to join! In Girl Scouts, not only do you make new friends, you also do lots of projects to help your community and to learn new things! We also have a performance where we have fun and show off our moves, called Puttin on The Hits. We go to Camp Groovy for a fun filled weekend with crafts, singing, dancing, and games up near Pinecrest! Girl Scouts is a great way to make new friends and to give back to the community!

Red: Speaking of giving back to the community, Thanksgiving is coming up! Make sure to give back by donating to the Salvation Army!! This time of year you will hear the bells and see the red kettles. It doesn’t matter how much you give, a little bit always counts!

Orange: The turkey trot is coming up and Its always a tradition for me to go with my family on Thanksgiving morning! The turkey trot is a 5k run in a super pretty area on the Tuolumne River! Before the actual run there is a mini race for younger kids. Go with your friends, your family, your neighbors, or anyone!

Congrats to Breaking Chainz! They are a band of teenagers who won the MAMA award for best youth band. Modesto had a ton of great youth bands. You can see them at places like Queen Bean, Barking Dog and Hero’s to name a few. Make sure you get to a show this month and support our local talent. They are one of the many things we have to be thankful for in Modesto!
