Hey Modesto! I hope you are all doing well. It is March, which means the Modesto marathon is coming up. This event will be taking place on March 26th. Proceeds go to the “Teens run Modesto” program. This is a wonderful program for teens, specifically ones at risk, that provides amazing character development skills and helps teens work on their physical fitness. If you’re not interested in running a marathon, sign up for the 5k race! If you’re not interested in the act of running at all, you can be a great help to our community by volunteering! We need help with pre-race preparation, course marshals, working at the finish line, entertainment, cleaning up, massage therapists, or even registration. This is a wonderful cause, and it’s a great way to get involved with the amazing community we have here in Modesto. The race begins at 7 am located downtown at the intersection of 11th and M streets. Everyone will be there! If you’re interested, you can sign up online at Modestomarathon.com!
Have you been to a planetarium before? If you haven’t, now is your chance! MJC has its very own planetarium. The William R. Luebke is absolutely beautiful, with top-of-the-line projection. There’s nothing more amazing than witnessing the fascinating solar system right before your eyes. It’s state of the art. You can make a reservation by group if you visit the GMV Tours page. Shows are on the second and 4th Saturday of the month. They begin and 11 am and 12 pm. I’ve gotten the chance to see a show before, and it was truly incredible. I highly recommend going if you’re looking for something unique and fun to do while gaining knowledge. I hope you all have an amazing March!
