Happy April Everyone! Hope everyone is feeling the spring spirit as the weather has warmed up and the flowers have popped up, too! This is such a great time of the year and for all students in Modesto, we are counting every single day until school’s out for summer! Many of us have plans for the summer and often try to get through these spring months as quickly as possible until we have school off, but there is so much to do at this time and we should take advantage of our amazing city.
Okay, so many of you may remember that I am the president of a club at Modesto High School called Project Hope! We have had many great fundraisers and events to raise funds to build medical centers and schools around the world. This year, it is our goal to build a school in Ghana, Africa! To reach our goal, we are going to be putting on our Battle of the Bands Concert on April 19th! This night features the amazing Josh Rosenblum Band, High Voltage and other local bands that will compete to win the hearts of the audience and earn the title of champion for the night! It is a great way to hear new bands, it’s cheaper than going to see a movie, AND all the proceeds go to a great cause, so come by and check it out, April 19th at Modesto High.
We just saw with the Modesto Marathon in March that people of all ages and sizes can get out and be active! Set a goal for yourself and get trained to run the half marathon (or even the marathon!) for next year. Bring a buddy and hit the running trails to get healthy and enjoy the beauty of our city today! Spring is full of life and opportunity and make sure to take advantage of it while we can because soon enough it will be too hot to even enjoy the outdoors. Remember to stay focused to finish out the school year and get planning for summer!
