October 17 is my birthday, and you can join the party by visiting me at Rancho De Los Gatos Locos way out Blue Gum Avenue 11 am to 5 pm, during the Wood Colony Community Fair. I was invited to show with my friends Andrew Walther and Alice Kinser in their eclectic gallery on what is also known as the Walther Ranch. it’s a treat to show with them at home, where Andrew will have his interesting constructions to view, and more. This is the annual Fall Show at Rancho De Los Gatos, so Art is for sale. We are on the Wood Colony Community Fair Ranch map at 6749 Blue Gum. Maps available at the central event location at Hart-Ransom Elementary School, 9 am to 3 pm.

This same weekend, at the Escalon Public Library, the Oak Valley Art Society annual Fall Show, also known as The Carriage Show, will be held October 17 and 18. This is a juried show with paid awards, with receiving October 15 and 16. Juror is Dan Petersen. Also October 17 is the Harvest Festival downtown Modesto, on 1010 Tenth Street Plaza are. And if that weren’t enough, Merced Art Hop is also October 17.
Organic Designs opens October 14 at Carnegie Arts Center, as a companion show to Fall exhibition of Alphonse Mucha. The Lobby Galleries will feature works on the theme, Organic Designs. Artists have submitted work that reflects an inspiration from any organic, natural or botanical sources. Show runs through January 15.

Celebrating the Figure continues at Mistlin Gallery until October 9, then gives way to the Annual Memorial Hospital Art Therapy exhibition October 13. Downtown Modesto Third Thursday is October 15. New map has some new stops to check out. Carolyn Huff Photography Studio at K and 13th will feature Art Quilter Sue Siefkin. Trevino Barber Shop has taken over the old Gallery 909 address and art walk map spot. My favorite this month was walking in on the Body Painting demo by Gerard Alatorre at Still Smoking. I presume they will have new models and designs this month.

Tammy Jo Schoppet and Nicole Slater will open a joint showing of 2gether over at the Chartreuse Muse this month. A combination of ceramics, paintings, and mixed media and I’m not sure what else, by two of our areas most energetic artists.

Other events to note, Merced Art Hop Pub Crawl and Fundraiser will be October 9. Artists will be showing at the Northern California Women’s Songwriters Festival. I have art up at Hinkley Optometric on 16th, some work at Papachino’s and adding to the hall way gallery at Barkin Dog Grill. Livingston Harvest Festival also has art, open October 2.
