Falling back into a routine as the season is quickly changes can be tricky. The chill in the air makes people yearn for pumpkin spice lattes and all things fall. Ms M is enjoying a quick bite at Fuzio’s this afternoon and takes in the sounds of life emanating from the Plaza. She loves that life continues, and people are resilient while weathering life’s changing seasons. A great way to persevere is to support local. Here’s a few ways to support local and spare your wallet.

Modesto DoMo First Fridays and Music in the Plaza have returned. September 3rd welcomes back the First Friday event hosts a variety of vendors, pop-up dance, and music in addition to so much more from 6-10pm. While walking around DoMo head over to the 10th street plaza and take in the musical sounds of Texas Funk as they take the stage. Music in the Plaza is every Friday in September 7-9 pm with Threshold, Third Party and BluesBox Bayou Band performing.The family friendly event is free to attend. The family has spent quality time at home this year, haven’t they? Family Movie Night in the park has returned with social distancing measures in place. Every Friday in September families can head over to Graceda Park to enjoy a movie under the stars for free. Movies start at dusk and COVID restrictions are in place so please be safe and mindful when you attend. The September 2nd movie is Disney’s Frozen 2. One of the Modesto area’s favorite extravagant treats, the 35th annual Edible Extravaganza, returns on September 16th! The is the Central Valley’s most talked about, highly anticipated, charity-based event for fall hosting some of the Valley’s finest from local vendors. Once again, this year the Center for Human Services, has modified their event to be mindful and safe for everyone. The event will shift to a virtual/at home version with Plan (B)askets that can be purchased with items from vendors. For the price of a full night on the town, you will be delightfully surprised.
