Happy New Year, everyone! Ms. M wishes the best for your 2025. Coming off of the holiday season, Ms. M finds herself trying to maintain healthy habits but also open to what the New Year will bring. Change isn’t always easy but thankfully having fun on a budget is. Here are some budget friendly ways to enjoy the new year.

Flow Into The New Year with yoga at Elevate Community Yoga. January 1st special session is a wonderful start to the New Year. The session is 90-minutes and designed specifically to help you set the tone for your year with a blend of mindful movement, reflection and inner calm. Poetry and writing are timeless creative endeavors that need to be appreciated by all. Most Poetry Center Second Tuesday will be celebrating 35 years of writing group longevity. The event will be held at Bookish Modesto featuring members of the Meter Maids including Tina Driskill, Lynn Hansen, and Louise Kantro. MOST invites everyone to come enjoy the Second Tuesday Poetry reading. The January 14th event starts at 7pm and is a free event. Additional information: www.mostpoetry.org/

Stories and music go hand-in-hand. It is never too early to encourage your little ones to be artistic and imaginative. Modesto Children’s Museum hosts the Little Lyricists Lounge on January 18th. The collaboration with Modesto Arts Movement is a hip-hop themed storytime that is designed for babies, toddlers, and children up to age 8 that takes place on the MoChiMu’s Tall Tales Stage!. A great way to start the year is to get in touch with your inner joy and remember when the world was full of mystery. Gallo Arts presents The Aluminum Show on January 23rd. It is a n exciting and magical mystery filled performance filled with visual theater, dance and humor. The multi-sensory experience tells the story of a man’s journey to parallel universe made of aluminum that will leave you amazed and delighted! Tickets $47-67. Info: www.galloarts.org/
