BargainView: Instantly November
By Monica Barber
The time change has quite happened, yet here we are instantly in November. The warm sun of the late afternoon continues to brighten everything with nice glow. Just before dusk descends upon downtown, sunset lights up the colors of the season and Ms. M finds herself filled with a sense of gratitude to be able to enjoy this small blessing. The season of giving is upon us and it’s more important to share our good fortune and find gratitude Here’s a few ways to enjoy the beginning of the busy season in our community.
A bit of music is a wonderful way to begin the month. Dragonfly – Art of Life Studio hosts their Friday Night Folk Flight on November 1st with Grover Anderson. Take in the smooth sounds of his Americana flavored songs about love, loss and frontier mischief starting at 7:30 pm. If you are inclined to participate in more than music the studio offers music, sip and wine special for $35. Music fans only need to pay $10 at the door. More info: www.thedragonflyartforlife.com
Family comes first for many of us and there’s nothing greater than adding to your family or deciding to become one. Stanislaus County’s Resource Family Program is hosting a movie night at The State Theatre on November 19th for anyone curious about foster care family or adoption. The free community event includes a free screening of the movie Instant Family and a panel of Resource Parents and youth that will be on hand to answer any question. This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome. This a great way to get involved in the community during the season of giving. Doors: 5 pm. Movie 5:30 pm. Info: www.thestate.org
