Could the month of June be more perfect? It boasts of warm nights that claim to have invented romance and inspire the deepest imaginations. This year June follows a tough act thanks to the warm temperatures of spring. Yet there’s always the simplest of pleasures to enjoy on a balmy summer day… the budding of roses, the evening strolls or a friendly smile from stranger in the crowd. Getting out on the town shouldn’t be a tough act on your wallet but another simple pleasure you can enjoy!

Kick off the month of June with a little night music. Downtown Modesto offers free entertainment with the Music in the Plaza series every Friday night during the Summer months. Located in the square across from Brenden Theaters, between Fuzio’s and the City of Modesto building, the ambient energy of evening and electric sounds is a winning combination. June 13th welcomes The Rob Hill Band as the featured musical act. Don’t miss out!

Don Quixote may find himself wandering lost and deeply invested in a quest but you don’t have to search any further for entertainment. Modesto Performing Arts presents Man of La Mancha at The Gallo Center starting June 21st through the 29th. The musical is adapted from Cervante’s masterpiece Don Quixote based on the adventures of a mad knight.Tickets range $19-$34. More info: http://www.galloarts.org
