There are oodles of reasons to love the fierce month of February, especially with all the love in the air. Ms M has been getting out more than staying in and just finished enjoying the return of Art Walk every third Thursday of the month. February is a fresh start to enjoy all the love that is all around. Here are some ways to stretch your budget while having fun.
Start the month off with a bit of theatre. The Broadway musical Waitress makes its debut at the Gallo Arts Center on February 1st with a touring production. The musical features original music from Grammy-award winning artist Sara Bareilles and choreography from Lorin Latarro. Modesto Certified Farmers Market, winter market is upon us this year already. The market reopened for the 2022 season on January 22nd for just a weekly Saturday Farmers Market experience. Valentine’s Day is a great time to catch a movie at The State Theatre. February 11th-13th the State will be playing some of their favorite romantic comedies that include When Harry Met Sally, Crazy Stupid Love and 50 First Dates. Get out and enjoy the charm of our very own local arthouse theatre with a unique date night that brings a bit of nostalgia with a bit of romance for the occasion. End the month with a tribute to the man in black, Johnny Cash at the Prospect Theater. This annual tradition has had a few bumps in recent years, returns on February 26th. The Wrong Doers’ Band and friends will continue this 10-year tradition of celebrating this iconic singer with a night of music that is not to be missed. Other acts include Chris Doud, Nathan Ignacio, and Big Earl Matthews among many more. Attendees must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. Tickets: $25 pre-sale/$30 door. Show: 8 pm.
