Summer might be the high season but Labor Day welcomes in that time of year that Keats called the ‘season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’. Ms. M throws a light sweater in her bag and plans her day around the cool weather. The temperature drop marks the turning of the leaves and the symphony of color about to descend upon our city. Much like the temperatures, the prices of summer drop and there’s plenty that will stretch your dollar.
The most extravagant event in Modesto returns for its 32nd year with everything delicious and mouthwatering that you can imagine eating! The Center for Human Services plays hosts to the Valley’s finest in cuisine and beverages at Edible Extravaganza on September 6th. Guests are delighted by music and entertainment in addition to samplings from local vendors for the cost of an evening out. Lovers of street art and graffiti will enjoy local artist FASM’s Creative Battle 6 on September 7th at Chartreuse Muse on 10th Street between I and J streets. A part of the DOMO Fridays, the battle showcases 7 renowned street artists from around the globe to battle it out on a giant wall. From 6-10pm, the artists will be competing for a cash prize in addition to being the permanently featured muralist on the Chartreuse Muse. Come out and enjoy the free event. One of the areas most anticipated events, the 11th Annual Modesto International Architectural and Design Week returns to Modesto September 16-22ndwith a plethora of special events and speakers.
