Summertime Gladness

June is the start of the heat and it marks the beginning of Summer. Ms. M is trying to stay cool andmaintain a bit of Summertime gladness with an iced tea picked up from the newly opened Preservation Coffee on this lovely afternoon as the temperatures have reached the high 90s. She is in the middle of her masked errands and feeling the sadness that the empty streets of Modesto reflect. There’s plenty to do that keeps your budget happy and health safe while staving off the summertime sadness as everything grinds back to a hum.
Driving into the movies instead of watching them in your home! On June 5th The State Theater collaborated with Shelter Cove present a Drive-in Experience of The Wizard of Oz at 7:30PM. The is the second offering of the newlyretooled outdoor movie experience that is honoring the California shelter-in-place phase order while remaining committed supporting the community through preventing the spread of COVID-19. Take your own concessions, stay in your vehicles, please refrain from alcohol, practice social distance and enjoy the show. Bathroom use will require masks. $25 per car. Yoga in the Park is back in real life! The social distancing version of your favorite relaxation is now off virtual and on physical. Head out to Graceada Park every Saturday in June from 9-10:15am for a class from Elevate Community Yoga. The class is donation based via Venmo donation jar on site.
