Something Dark
By Chris Murphy
Our friends at DoGood Distillery are really making some amazing spirits. We love trying all the different places in town that create tasty concoctions based on these amazing locally produced treats. Needless to say, we like rum and the Do Good 3 Mile is fantastic. We also like their whiskey so were on a mission. So we head out to the Redwood Café, where they already make one of our fave Gin and Tonics and check out their rum creation that you too can order right at the bar. Chris Hull is a great tastemaker and will reach for the stars in creating a drink you love. Here is what they created:
Cocktail is called “Something, Something, Dark side”. This spirit driven, hybridized Manhattan is served old fashioned style so you get the maximum aroma and taste. Here is how it goes.
1oz Do Good Nighthawk Bourbon wWhiskey
1oz Do Good 3 mile rum
1oz Jagermeister
2 soild dashes Aztec chocolate bitters
Fresh ruby red grapefruit peel
All ingredients combined and stirred vigorously stirred over ice.
Strained over large ice sphere and garnished with the grapefruit peel
We recommend that you head directly to Redwood Café and check it out.
