Summer Lemonade Gold Rush
It is summer and the urge to drink lemonade is strong. The warmer the day, the better it tastes, and guess what, lemonade tastes even better when is has some help from our friends at Surla’s and Do Good Distillery California Wheat Bourbon. This combination is a hot weather award-winning champion.
This bourbon is amazing. Do Good California Wheat Bourbon is uses only ingredients grown in the Golden State, and is smooth, subtle, and sweet. It has lingering softness and body courtesy of a healthy dose of wheat that blends beautifully with corn and malted barley for a smooth and versatile bourbon.
So let’s start with the bar at Surla’s. This is always a place to get amazing refreshment and they have a really cool happy hour menu and in the summer, even have a special Taco Tuesday event. Behind this cool red bar, Andrea Ramirez and her team always have something fresh and light on deck. Now, they have added a lemonade cocktail that is on tap and ready go at the pull of the lever.
Andrea comments that many of her first guests in are the last out. That’s how good and comfortable the Surla’s experience is. With this tasty blend of Do Good California Bourbon, fresh Lemon juice, Rosemary Simple Syrup, Peach Liqueur, and soda water, this is mixed, all the ingredients are blended together and you can simply pour over ice, or in our case, get it shaken over ice until it is super cold and then poured neat into a martini glass. So many tasty options on this refreshing treat.
While you are there, you need to sample the Surla’s bar menu. I can’t ever pass up their amazing Lumpia, or even get a little pizza to hold me over. Since Surla’s opened, it has been a place for taste sensations, and their Sunday brunch is a flat out hall of fame.
So when it gets warm, which it appears that it will be every day this July, I recommend stopping by Surla’s for a Bourbon Gold Rush. Also, you can see bourbon being made at Do Good Distillery where there is a tasting room and distillery tours. Check it out.

2 oz California Bourbon Whiskey
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz Rosemary Simple Syrup
.5 oz Peach Liqueur
4 oz Soda Water
