BarView – Tuesday Tresettis

Tuesdays with Tresetti’s By Kate Serpa Photos by Philip Johnson

Tuesday is likely the most boring day of the week. Most of you will disagree, firmly stating, “What about Monday? Or Wednesday? Those days suck!” But you see, Reader, Mondays and Wednesdays still have a measure of motivation behind them. Mondays you have you drag yourself out of the Sunday wreckage of wine-bingeing whilst watching Game of Thrones, and put on a presentable face by 8 a.m. in attempt to successfully hide your hangover from your coworkers until 5 p.m. That takes motivation, skill, planning, eye drops, breath mints, moist towelettes …. So when Tuesday morning rolls around, it’s pretty difficult to muster Monday’s passion of actually giving a damn.

Likewise, Wednesdays put you within a stone’s throw of Thursday, which equals visible approaching weekend time. So in short, Tuesdays are the –insert female dog synonym– of the week. They are forgettable; they are lackluster. What’s a girl to do?

Never fear, Reader, Tresetti’s World Caffe is serving out a beginning of the week boredom-breaker with its triple T — Tresetti’s Tuesday Tastings.

For just ten dollars you receive three 4 oz. pours of whatever specialty liquor is being featured for the week along with three paired appetizers. This is an excellent event for you indecisive people I always end up behind in line for the bar that don’t know what to order; Tuesday Tastings make it look like you know what you’re doing. Better still, the event runs from 5 to 7 p.m., giving you plenty of time to get home, watch your stories, and get your eight hours (which, like most things, is always easier with a few cocktails in you).

Featured boozy selections vary week to week; Smirnoff vodka has been recent favorite with its new Wild and Sorbet flavors. When Phil and I ventured over, a Fresno brewery, Tioga Sequoia, was the main event — yielding happy gents pours from five brew selections coupled with a variety of finger foods.

Think of the possibilities! Tresetti’s Tuesday Tastings provide an ideal after-work/un-awkward first date/meet up with friends environment. You’re in the heart of downtown, right down the street from the Gallo Center, have access to Tresetti’s generously stocked wine shop and lovely patio, and are one waiter-request away from fantastic bar and fine dining fare. Tresetti’s Tuesday Tastings will continue to hold a place in my weekly planner and heart until they transition to tequila tastings, in which case they might just be holding my hair.
