BigView – Happy Haunting

The BigView

By Chris Murphy

“When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still. That is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight!” – Haunted Mansion- Disneyland

Up in the hills, there is a haunted castle.

Paranormal visits are regular and now, mere mortals can take a night-time tour of the former boys’ school in Ione. The trip up will create anticipation. Preston Castle has become one of California’s haunted experiences and on any regular day is spooky, but this Halloween will be transformed with an all new scare. This beautiful cultural tradition began in the early 1900’s in Mexico and is traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2. It is a time of remembrance of your loved ones and for those who love their pets. them as well. It involves the four elements Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Earth by using earthenware pots, Wind Papel Picado that blows with wind, Fire with candles, and Water by simply having a glass of water on your display. You also include marigolds as the scent will bring them back and their favorite food to nourish them while they are here with us.
