BluesView- New Local Music Shows

This is it folks, the debut of local music nights at the State. I am so excited to be a part of all of this. I really feel that this is going to be a great thing for local music and for Modesto as a whole.

I would ask that you all make the effort to come out and support these shows so that we can keep this going strong for a long time to come.

First up, Feb.. 9th The good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, along with the Pine Box Boys and House of Orange. This show is going to be a blast and just so you all know this show is General admission! That means no assigned seating. You can go right up and stand in the front, you can dance and shake your stuff. This is an all ages event.

The following Friday we will have Diego’s Umbrella from San Francisco with local opening acts Nesta and The Airlings at the State Theatre, so make plans to come out to both shows and at $15 at the door it should be easy to do.

As for ongoing weekly events, the Thursday Night Ramble is back in full swing with a special event on Valentine’s Day, Feb.. 14th. We are bring in CALIBAN (featuring members of Tempest) to play at Deva Cafe along with Aireene Espiritu and Lovecore Singing Telegrams for the special price of only $15.

Our new weekly event at Hero’s on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 10pm is Blues and Brews, featuring a different act each week ranging in styles from Blues and Jazz to Americana. This show has a little something for everyone including a new featured beer each week.

On Feb.. 10th Hero’s will be Hosting Westie Night with West Coast Swing dancing lessons and a community dance immediately after with my band, Big Earl and the Cryin’ Shame. $5 for a one hour lesson and $5 for the dance.

We (15 of us local artists and bands) are working on a Compilation CD. We will be doing a Kickstarter Campaign beginning on Feb.. 2nd as well as a yard sale and bake sale on the same day on the corner of Orangeburg Ave. and Tully Rd. Come out and help us raise money for our project. For more info write to bigearl@gmail.com or you can find me on Facebook. We are looking for donations in the way of cash or unwanted stuff for our sale. Thanks in advance for supporting local grassroots music.
