CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE’ WITH UB40 LEGENDS ALI, ASTRO & MICKEY AT STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR
Turlock, CA (February 9, 2017) — UB40 Legends Ali, Astro & Mickey bring their unique pop-reggae blend to Turlock for the 2017 Stanislaus County Fair.
UB40 will be performing Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Stanislaus County Fair on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage. The concert will be hosted by KJOY and will begin at 8:30 p.m. The concert is free with the price of Fair admission.
“This British reggae band will keep our Fair guests dancing all night,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “It will be a blast from the past for our reggae lovers.”
The original three members of UB40, Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue have reunited to help define reggae music for a new generation. Their world tours have included visits to North and South America, Nigeria, South Africa, Dubai and Papua New Guinea. In 2016, they returned to the States, played Australia and visited the vineyards of New Zealand for a Red Red Winery tour.
The multi-racial band, formed in 1979 in Birmingham, continues to pool a diverse set of influences to put a fresh, indigenous slant on Jamaican reggae. They continue to breathe new life into an intoxicating mix of timeless covers and classic UB40 originals. UB40’slatest album, “Unplugged,” proves that their smooth yet rootsy musical blend has stood the test of time.
