Dana~licious Cooking Parties

By Dana Johnson

In November, I’m always reminded what I’m grateful for. I’m grateful to all of you Viewers for trusting me to guide you where all the best ‘eats’ and related culinary wonders are in our community. Thank you for trusting me to guide you to all the great eats our area has to offer! Thank you for sharing these great finds with your friends and family as it really supports amazing small business in a big way, and special thanks to Chris Murphy for creating the ModestoView and promoting our awesome city!

I have much to be thankful for and now I have something new to add to my list! Before my exciting reveal, I’d like to share some of what I do besides writing for the magnificent Modesto View. I am a guest chef once a month on FOX40 News out of Sacramento, showcasing my original Dana~licious recipes. I am also currently teaching culinary classes for MJC at Direct Appliance. I also have created over 200 culinary instructional videos for www.eHow.com. I do private catering, and in the past I have taught classes at the wonderful Figamarole!

So what’s the next big culinary sensation in Modesto? Live demo & hands on cooking parties (for groups’ 12 minimum and 20 maximum guests) at Direct Appliance! Owners Colleen and Ron Winter have always been so generous in opening their kitchens for public use to MJC. I’m incredibly grateful for them supporting this next culinary endeavor of mine! The Direct Appliance’s impressive showroom has 4 kitchens that are state of the art, and it’s perfect for It’s a real unique and memorable experience for you and yours to enjoy together. This month, I give you some really fun recipes for you to try for your own Thanksgiving and hope you enjoy them.

Modesto View Signature Question: Beatles or Stones? Me, Dana Johnson, still cannot believe this is even a question! STONES, they have been rocking my world and have been living in my soul, shining through in many of my culinary delights for as long as I can remember!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Thank you for this food!
