Christmas Canceled?
By Efren Martinez
According to Mr. Grinch, Christmas is canceled this year or he’d like it to be. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, the Grinch is at it again as he tries doing his worst to steal your 2015 Christmas. Lately he’s been seen at Modesto on Ice wreaking havoc there as well as cruising around town swiping your children’s outdoor Christmas decorations. He’s also been seen plotting his evil Christmas plans at Fuzio’s, giving Santa a bad time at our holiday parade, and being kicked out of Walgreen’s for making a mess in the holiday aisle. Friends, this mean green guy has got to be chased out of Modesto once again! Last year the children did a wonderful job getting him to hightail his fuzzy green butt out of our city. Children! Make sure you come join the rest of the boys and girls this Saturday December 12th for The Spirit of Giving “Jingle Bell Run” at our beautifully decorated Modesto View “Rockin’ Holiday” in downtown Modesto. There will be a 5K walk/run/race as well as a festival like snow falling atmosphere with The Quake DJ and yes, the Grinch will be there to disrupt your holiday fun. Boys and girls, the kids fun run is free for children under 10 years of age and I’m encouraging everyone to bring at least one can of food to donate to our friends in need this holiday season.
Modesto! Let’s show this mean green Grinch that Modesto is nowhere where he wants to be, without hurting him of course. Let’s just chase him out of town with the hopes that he will repent through your heartfelt eyes and your spirit of giving.
