Hello, hello, hello.  Welcome to my first installment of the Comedy View column.  The purpose of this column is to keep you informed of local shows and what local comics are up to in the 209 and on the road.  Also, if I’m honest, I really hope this inspires more of you to go to local shows.

Here are some highlights for this month:

Modesto favorite Saul Trujillo will perform at Cheroot Lounge September 29 and 30.  Saul is a hilarious comic from Stockton who performs all over the West Coast. Local comics Taylor Evans and A.J. Demello will be joining in these two nights of comedy. Tickets for this show are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. You can get tickets at Cheroot in Modesto or contact Truheo@GMail.com

Looking for a show in Turlock?  How about free?  Check out the Ha-Sauce Delight College Comedy Night at the Pizza Factory September 27 at 9 p.m. Hosted by A.J. Demello with headliner, Jason Sohm, joined by Nik Taro and Samantha Gilweit

Mr. Tay’s Comedy Twist at Cancun Restaurant in Stockton is September 16. Headliner, Dru Burks, performs nationwide and is an in-demand comedy show host.The show opens with a comedy competition where the audience gets to judge. Ready for some more free shows?

Cheroot Lounge in Modesto has free comedy every other Tuesday at 8 p.m. This month the Tuesdays are the 12th and the 26th.  This show is hosted by MAMA Comedy Award winner Anthony K. The lineup is always a surprise and usually features local and nationally touring comics.  This is a free show in a small room so get there early. Also, smoking is allowed in the room in case you have sensitivities.

The Outpost Saloon in Waterford has free comedy the last Wednesday of every month. This month’s show is the 26th at 8:30 p.m.  The lineup feature comics from all over California and surrounding areas.  This show is hosted by two-time MAMA Comedy Award winner Jimmie Menezes and myself.
