Beginning November 25th, the Community Christmas Tree celebrates 38 years of making a magical Christmas morning, no matter the circumstances, and gives children the “gift of hope” each year! On the tree, there are cards representing approximately 2,500 children that need some sparkle in their lives. The Tree is sponsored by Soroptimist International of Modesto and Modesto Sunrise Rotary, partnering with KHOP Radio and Vintage Faire Mall.
You can help make these holidays a happy time for a child that may not otherwise receive a gift during the season. Names of the children are submitted by local schools and social service agencies and represent some of the neediest children in the Modesto area. Most of the children ask for necessities like coats, shoes, socks, pants, and blankets.
Here is how you can GET INVOLVED: Visit kiosk on the second level of Santa’s Village at Vintage Faire Mall, check out a tag, shop for that child and return your tag with the gifts “unwrapped” to our Kiosk. The gift is then wrapped and delivered to that child in time for Christmas.
To ensure that all children receive a gift, we encourage monetary donations as well! You can easily donate if you are interested in providing financial support for the Community Christmas Tree! These donations go towards additional gifts for children’s cards not picked from the tree, gift wrapping, and other special treats that help to make the season shine.(See details on donations below).
The tree booth will open at Vintage Faire Mall on Black Friday – November 25th and run through December 18th. Hours are 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. Businesses and organizations can also share in the spirit of giving by supporting 10 or more children! Contact Pam Shelton-Allen at 551-0221 for further information.
