FlyModesto DestinationLAX
SOMETHING ABOUT LA
By Katie Jones, Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Sixel Consulting Group Sick of driving 100 miles just to get on a plane? Right now, Modesto’s air service is only to San Francisco, and it’s often cheaper to drive to the Bay Area rather than fly. But what if there were another alternative?
A major airline is interested in flying nonstop between Modesto and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). But before the airline will commit, it needs to know that the community will actually use the new service. To that end, the City of Modesto and the Modesto City-County Airport have launched DestinationLAX<http://www.destinationlax.com/>. DestinationLAX is a campaign to collect $1 million in nonbinding pledges from businesses and individuals as proof that the community will support the new route. Los Angeles is the perfect new destination for the region. It’s the most popular city for Modesto business travelers, and LAX is the largest airport on the West Coast. This means that hundreds of destinations across the world are one stop away—no driving required. If enough pledges are collected, the new service to LAX could begin as early as this summer.
The service would be so good for the city, but it isn’t a done deal. In order for the airline to start operations, we need a million dollars in pledges. That’s why Sixel Consulting Group, on behalf of Modesto Airport, needs to collect your commitment.
The campaign ends February 28, so there isn’t much time. No cash is required upfront, and we’re not asking that you spend more money—simply that you spend your existing travel budget in a new direction.
Eliminate drive time, parking costs and fog delays. Commit your travel budget to supporting your local airport. Make a pledge today. www.DestinationLAX.com<http://www.destinationlax.com/>
