Dining View / Burger Me Happy!

By Dana Johnson

Dana’s on a burger mission! July is BB Q and grillin’ month. MoBand,
neighborhood parties and our local chefs want to show their skills and two
of our local restaurants have great options. Look what Dana found!

The Station on Tenth Street
Chef Chad Briscoe

Finally! A downtown Modesto restaurant

that understands many like to
“Grub after the Club!” The Station on
Tenth Street opened its doors in Early
June and already has created quite a
buzz.
The Station on 10th is an ace choice
after an evening of downtown Modesto’s
numerous entertainment spots. Chef/
Owner Chad Briscoe says “Come have
fun! Great drinks and amazing food!” In
this cool old school garage style restaurant
you can grub on 100% Angus Beef
Burgers, sandwiches, kid’s menu, and
breakfast burritos to the meat lover’s
scramble while indulging in a full bar.
The 1/4 lb. burgers are a steal, priced @
$3.99-$4.99.
Chef Chad at the breezy age of 35 is
a Modesto native who moved to Georgia
for a short time before coming back
home to follow his culinary dreams.
He gave up his career of 14 years in
construction to pursue his true passion
for cooking, inspired by his 3 children.
Chef Chad graduated from the Modesto
Institute of Technology in the culinary
program.
Chef Chad claims he is a ‘foodie’
and a fat kid at heart. He rarely allows
himself any time off from the restaurant,
but when he does he likes to
spend every waking moment with his
kids (though he does take pleasure in
a Vegas vacation!) He has a 3 yr. old
son that loves to play wrestling, a 5 yr.
old daughter who loves to pretend she
is opening her own restaurant like Daddy,
and his 16 yr. old daughter is often
found spending quality time hanging
out with Dad at the restaurant. When he
was a kid he played in a band. His favorite
movies are The Harry Potter Series.
His biggest fear is to be a failure in
the eyes of his children. He would like
to be remembered as a pretty good guy
who lives long and loves happily. In ten
years from now he’d like to be opening
his tenth restaurant! Chef Chad is dedicated
to working hard to carve his path
to culinary success.
Chef Chad’s signature Cajun Spiced
Burger has an impressive combination
of flavors sure to be customer favorite.
Upon request Chef Chad created a
fantasy burger for me, Dana’s Mozzarella
Cheese Stix and Marinara Burger!
Insanely Dana-licious and yes he will
make it for you, too! He honors special
menu requests. This is the only
menu I know of with crawfish on it,
too. ‘Chewy’ of the Modesto Power fitness
training center orders the Modesto
Power sandwich loaded with portabella,
red bell, zucchini, & onion to fuel his
workout day.
Beatles or Stones? Beatles, Jealous
Guy also done by Casey James on
American Idol. But then he foolishly
says; “between you and I, I hate the
Stones!” Luckily my mouth was full of
burger and it took 2 hands to hold it!
