Downtown Restaurants Offer Big Savings!

Summer is a great time to get out and enjoy a meal prepared by someone other than yourself. Turning on your oven in the heat of the afternoon is not always what someone might call enjoyable after a day at work. That’s why Modesto’s Downtown Restaurant owners would like you to invite you to celebrate Downtown Restaurant Week August 11th through the 18th.

Downtown Restaurant Week is your opportunity to choose from prix fixe pricing and the finest that Modesto has to offer in culinary arts. Two course lunch menus are available for $10 during the event. Dinner Menus are three course and vary at either $20 or $30. Chefs are prepared to tantalize your taste buds for a fraction of what you would expect to pay.

Tammy Maisetti of Tresetti’s World Cafe and Jax on H has been the spearhead to make Restaurant Week a reality. Many cities around the country celebrate Restaurant Week and Tammy had a vision that Modesto should offer an event of this magnitude as well. Bringing the idea to the Downtown Improvement District and forming a committee to execute the promotion, Tammy has now realized her vision will soon be an annual celebration of what Downtown restaurants have to offer.

Suppliers and partners were presented with the idea and found that it would be a great way to showcase the ultimate dining experience of Downtown Modesto. One of the first to step up was Tony Varni of Varni Brothers, distributors of 7 Up and Noah’s Water. Ditto’s, Modesto’s Downtown business and copy center followed swiftly behind as well as U.S. Food Service, Basi Insurance Services, Nasco, Sciabica’s Oil, Brenden Theaters and The State Theater.

Dining in Downtown is definitely the heartbeat of the valley. Indoor and outdoor dining are available at many of the establishments. The surrounding retail businesses provide an opportunity to stroll through downtown and before or after lunch and dinner and purchase some products and services from local owners.
