Energy Upgrade California Visits Vintage Faire Mall

NOW THROUGH NOVEMBER 22, 2015

Get free tips and information by visiting Energy Upgrade California in Center Court inside the mall. The Energy Upgrade California Mobile Education and Outreach team will be the mall with an interactive experience designed to bring more awareness to just how much energy and water we use, but more importantly, how we can save both by making informed decisions. This interactive mobile experience will show shoppers where they can go to find educational videos and fact sheets on how to save energy and money, and the attendees will even get the chance to make a pledge!

This Saturday, there will be give-a-ways like water bottles, so stop by!

Some tips:
1. Take short showers. 5 minutes or less. Saves 25 gallons!

2. Install low-flow showerheads. You can save up to 2,900 gallons monthly.

3. Run washing machine and dish washer with full loads only, and USING COLD WATER. Most washing machines will clean just as well in cold than hot. Not heating your water also saves energy and money.

4. Turn off the water while brushing your teeth. Families can save up to 3,000 gallons a year doing this.

5. Repair leaky faucets and toilets. Leaks can waste over 3,000 gallons a year!

6. Save the water from your shower. When you turn on the shower and wait for your water to get cold, place a bucket under the faucet to catch it. Use it for house plants or garden, or for even more effect, use it to fill the toilet tank the next time you flush.
