Family Events at the Modesto Library

Family Programs at the Modesto Library Visit the Modesto Library this October for a selection of free events that will entertain the whole family! All shoppers are invited to the All Kids Craft Fair on Saturday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come support young entrepreneurs as they learn customer service skills in a fun and creative environment! Sellers must have signed up by September 30. Get into the spirit of Halloween with Slightly Scary Stories on October 14 at 6:15 p.m. Children and tweens 8 – 12 are invited to bring their favorite scary story to tell by our “campfire.” Those who would prefer not to tell a story may submit a story for the Librarian to read. All stories must be submitted to the Children’s Department by 3:30 p.m. on October 14 for approval. Join us for Dinner Theater, a special family program recommended for children ages 6 and up, on October 15 at 6:30 p.m. You provide the dinner and we provide the theater! This month’s show features the Cowgirl Tricks of Karen Quest in a fun-filled Vaudeville-style Western Comedy Act. Cowgirl Karen Quest will delight audiences with trick roping, whip cracking, music, and lots of surprises! As space is limited, advanced sign-ups are required. Call 558-7810 or visit the Modesto Children’s Library to reserve a seat. This event is sponsored by the Stanislaus County Library Foundation through a grant from Omega Nu. October 27 – November 1 is Superhero Week at the Modesto Library! Children are invited to visit the Modesto Library’s Children’s Department for a SUPER fun week. Children can enjoy more superhero action on October 30 with Makerspace: Superhero Edition. Starting at 3:30 p.m. children are invited to make a superhero MORE mask and play with props from our superhero/villain costume box. Kids of all ages can build with LEGOs at the library on October 29 at 3:30 p.m. Participants can choose from an assortment of colored LEGOs to create numerous imaginative designs. Larger DUPLO blocks will be available for younger children, however children under the age of four must have direct parental supervision. The Modesto Library is located at 1500 I Street in Modesto.
