Finding Our Way Home: Modesto
By Amy Vickery
On any given day in our city, roughly 1,000 residents are homeless and an estimated 10,000 more may be at risk of homelessness. They are veterans. They are families with children. Some find daily shelter and some live without any shelter at all.
Finding Our Way Home: Modesto is an opportunity for residents who want to help resolve homelessness in our city to come together for that purpose. The meeting will be held on January 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Center Plaza, 1000 L St, Modesto, CA 95354, Stanislaus Room.
This meeting is a follow-up from the Focus on Prevention Summit held last October. Participants will learn about the emerging results and indicators for this countywide effort. We will discuss the emerging strategies to effect positive change in Modesto, and ways that people can get involved and take action going forward.
Focus on Prevention is a county-wide initiative that aims to improve the quality of life for all Stanislaus residents and families through coordinated prevention efforts that work across multiple sectors. These sectors include government; business; health; non-profit; philanthropy; education; faith; neighborhood; media; and arts, entertainment, and sports.
