It’s 5:AM and cool outside but the pollution index is unhealthy. No worries, I’m all about going for a bike ride in The Swiss Alps this morning. In my home gym, I have my spin bike directly in front of a 55 inch HD 3DTV. In July’s FitFiew I wrote about how and why I converted one of the least unused rooms to a home gym. I’ve invested in these cycling videos that allow me to get my spin fitness/bike ride on anywhere in the world like along the cost, Italy, Hawaii, The Swiss Alps and one of my personal favorites during the summer time, the snowy mountains of Europe. These videos are amazing! They keep my workout entertaining as well as my heart rate and speeds to a level any Ironman would appreciate. Either climbing up a mountain or pacing the leader in the video, theses interval of speeds are actually displayed on the screen in front of me. During these global workouts I can closely monitor my heart rate with my Polar Fit Watch that’s also connected to the computer on the spin bike. If my heart rate goes aerobic or even anaerobic, the technology I have lets me know. Seriously, I have it all scienced out and yes it’s an extreme high powered workout in the comforts of a controlled home gym environment. Sure I enjoy running and cycling outside, but like most in my level of fitness I’m sure you’ve had more than a few close calls on the streets when it comes to the dangers of our societies addictions like texting & driving. No doubt about it, it’s also a safety issue for me since I have so many people depending on me to be there tomorrow and the day after that.

Other plusses about my Turbo Tripping is that I can control how warm or cold I want it and I’m just steps away from a restroom when nature calls. You wouldn’t believe how much time I’m saving now. In fact, with the time I’ve saved from going to the gym or meeting up with my cycling group, I’ve invested that very same time back into my own workout. As far as the music I groove to during any of my workouts, Heck friends. I’m a Quake DJ and I have the best mixes in my library that would get your heart rate up even if you were just sitting on the sofa. Happy Fitness Friends!
