Flying Blind is Back!
Have you seen my girl….she’s the one with the curly hair….
OK, you know this song by heart. If you have never heard it, get ready for the first big reunion of Flying Blind. Flying Blind captured the heart of Modesto during 2000 and 2001 before inking a record deal with Universal/Republic and even getting their song Smokescreen (Have you seen my girl) on the American Pie 2 soundtrack.
Flying Blind attached huge crowds for their shows. Some at the small places like Charlie’s on Granger to the open air 10th St Plaza and filling the Modesto Center Plaza and drawing thousands to their X fest stage. The amazing part was that they were loved by all ages. The small kids loved their songs and on-stage fun and adults and parents loved the music and the sense of humor. Flying Blind had something for everyone and now they are back. After an LA relocation and a hiatus, the original team of Matt Brown, Scott Beck. Keith Cole, Andrew Franca and Jeff Greene are back as well as Steve Christain rounding up the full Flying Blind line up.
Coaxed out of retirement for the Hughson 100 Year Anniversary, it was if Flying Blind never missed a day playing. At the last minute, when a family emergency took Panic at the Disco out of the X-Fest line up, Chris Ricci contacted Flying Blind. Who else in town could command a huge stage and light up X-fest at such short notice. And they did. The old songs sound great and there is new music on the way. Now, the next wave will get to know Flying Blind as they take to the streets for a huge all-ages reunion show in J Street in front of the State Theatre. So get the entire family and all of your friends welcome Flying Blind back, October 1 at the State.
