Spring is on the way!

Spring is on the way and the beauty of the season must be enjoyed. Ms. M finds herself enamored with the warm temperatures. As I watch the birds sing in the trees and sunbathe in fountains, I’m reminded of the simplicity of living and how easily it is to get caught up in the routine of everything. Here are a few ways to capture simplicity and have fun without going broke!
March is the perfect time to bring order to your home. Modesto welcomes back the Stanislaus Home & Garden show. Drop by the Centre Plaza March 4th-6th for great tips and ideas to help improve the interiors and exteriors of your homes. Science is essential to everyday life and a great way to enrich the mind. Visit The State theatre on March 12th to take in a free afternoon lecture and film where Astrophysicist, Tammy Ma. Ph.D. from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will discuss Harnessing Fusion: Creating a Sun on Earth. A film Star Trek Into Darkness follows the lecture starting at 2:30pm. Science students are eligible to receive learning credit, LLNL swag, and help win a $500 prize for their school science program. Free to all. Info: thestate.org/
Going green is a huge undertaking in building and necessary for the future of architecture. March 16th -17th at the Centre Plaza, Modesto hosts, the first and only annual event of it’s kind, The Central Valley Facilities / Managing Green Buildings Expo and Conference. Modesto Marathon runs back into town on March 20th. Take a prelap by attending the Modesto Marathon Expo on the March 19th for free. From 10am-5pm the Expo at the Centre Plaza will have vendor booths and race related information for the big race on Saturday. The race starts at 7am so head out and cheer on your favorite runners! Farmers Market returns just in time for Easter! Opening day at the market is March 26th and you better have your best egg hunting gear ready to go! There are 3 age group egg hunts from birth to 10 years followed by Easter crafts from 10:30am-12:30pm. Don’t miss a special appearance from everyone’s favorite hippity-hop, The Easter Bunny.
