Get a new view! At ModestoView we have been saying that since 1997. It is good to notice the small things. It is the frills around the edge, the hidden track on a CD, the extra fork at a restaurant and the corbel of a vintage building in Modesto? What was that? The architecture of Modesto? Yes. If you have taken the time to walk around and just look at our buildings and our houses you will get a whole new view of Modesto. Going to dinner downtown? Park on 13th and walk and look at some of the shops, the retro tower at 14th and J, the scrolls on the First Methodist Church of Modesto and the books cast into the McHenry Museum as it used to be a library and you will be amazed at what you will find. Everywhere you look there is something to see. When you look around, you notice the amazing designs in the College area, the variety of the trees, the sound of music coming from a Café, the smell of bread outside your favorite restaurant, the flowers on the tables, the cool gifts in a boutique, the conversation of two people on a patio, the sconces on the walls and the colors and paintings in the art galleries and the bright neon of the State and the new modern tower of the Brenden and of course, the arches… the amazing smorgasbord of arches in our city, and it goes on and on. Modesto, USA is truly a Classic American City, with the echoes of the cruisers of our history on the Historic Cruise route to the soaring arches of the Gallo Center with the buzz of day to day Modesto where we work, share, play and evolve along with our city. We are all part of our architecture and we are all designing our future, so let’s notice the small details and make it special.
