Mobility in Mongolia
There are parts of the world that don’t necessarily have the resources what we do, but nevertheless, they have the same needs. In many cases, the issue of disability or lack of mobility can mean the difference between life and death, especially in developing countries.
Hope Haven West, based here in Modesto and operated by the amazing “Uncle” Lonny Davis. By day he operates a network of homes for the mentally ill and by night (and day) he operates this global charity that provides mobility i.e. wheelchairs, to underserved parts of the planet. Wheelchairs are fitted to each of the specific recipients and they are adjustable so that the chair will grow with the person. Our local Rotary Clubs have supported this and many of the other missions. If you have ever been to a concert at The Portal, you have supportedHope Haven West
I and my daughter Abigail are proud to be part of the team to deliver mobility and wheelchairs to Mongolia. We will be visiting 5 cities and villages from Ulunbaataar to nearly the Russian border. We have been outfitted by our friends at Sherpa, a Modesto based trekking and outdoor clothing company, for this journey. We will be updating our journey and experiences on ModestoView.com are very proud to represent Modesto in this important service expedition.
