Go Modesto – Science Saturdays

By Chris Murphy

Are you blown away by the new images coming in from the James Webb telescope? We are. Science is amazing and the images that are being collected are nothing short of super stellar. Did you know that these amazing images are being analyzed, filtered and color imaged by a local Modestan? Citizen scientist @spacegeck, Janet Schmidt has been featured by none other than NASA and her infrared colorizing has been shared on NASA’s website. How cool is this? Science is amazing, it’s real and we can learn so much about our world and those beyond our atmosphere.

You can learn about the earth, moon, stars and so much more at the Great Valley Museum. Kids need to learn the wonder of science and the universe around us. The stars tell a vivid story, it evolves daily and exploring space teaches us about our own world and there are special planetarium shows weekly. There are so many ways to learn at the Great Valley Museum with our natural history and ecosystems as well.

Don’t miss the MAPS Jurassic Festival program with Taormina (Tara) Lepore where she asks the question, “Why are we so fascinated by Dinos?” Learn what makes a dinosaur a dinosaur on Sept 30 at 4 pm and 7:30 pm MJC West Campus Sierra #132
