ModestoView Weekly Greeting

Greetings Modesto Friends!

Don’t you just love the rain? This is classic case of you gotta get it when you can get it. But don’t let the weather keep you inside. There are many covered patios at some of your favorite restaurants and it is soup season so you can beat the flu that is going around.

You can check out the amazing Candied Bacon Do Good Old Fashioned at Fuzio’s, you need some of that old school cocktail therapy. There is also live music therapy and even some wrestling therapy this week to make you feel better. You can even be the singer of a real band!  But I have a quick question? What do you LOVE about Modesto?

Our February issue is coming up and we would love to hear about what you love. Reply to this email or post it on our Facebook www.facebook.com/modestoview and tell us what do you love; old shoes, blanket, favorite dish, most romantic seat at a restaurant. We would love to hear from you and you might even find your way to the pages of the Feb ModestoView. Also, please join us Saturday night as we celebrate the Best in Local Business at the Modesto Chamber of Commerce annual awards.  So get out there, do some Modesto therapy and stay well for the winter.

Thank you for being a part of ModestoView. – Chris Murphy, Founder.

Looking to the future of music

by Monica Barber

We could look back and say, ‘Oh, my it’s come that far in that short a time?’ Yet in the last 6 years since the start of MUMfest and the frenzy of change, it’s hard to argue that Aaron Rowan has definitely had a great run in a short time. Between planning events for Modesto Unplugged Music Festival/MUMfest, organizing the New Algonquin Round Table, sharing his perspective on music in AcousticView for the ModestoView. Read More

BarView: Fuzio’s Candied Bacon Do Good Old Fashioned

By Chris Murphy

Have you ever had a drink that got better with every sip? I am not kidding. I did not want this drink to end, and since it was in the mid-afternoon, I did not ask for a 2nd one. But boy oh boy am I going back for another one. Gina Lopes of Fuzio Bistro in downtown Modesto teamed up with our friends at Do Good Distillery for a new take on a cocktail classic. At the core of this drink is the Do Good California Bourbon Whiskey. This is a delicious way to start. And here is where it gets interesting. Read More
