ModestoView News Letter

Greetings Friends!

I hope your week is going great and if you are like me, it is moving along fast.  We are going to get some nice weather this weekend before the rain kicks back up again on Monday, so get out while you can.

There are some hall of fame events, both literally and figuratively happening this weekend. We celebrate the amazing people that have attended Modesto High, with the induction of the Legend of the Cruise Gene Winfield. He will join a really solid class of 2019 to be added to the Modesto High Hall of Fame.  You can get tix to this celebrity event that will also feature the induction of Broadway star Jeremy Stolle.

Another “hall of fame” event is the Modesto Sunrise Rotary’s Bacchus and Brew. Really fun event for a great cause.  You need to check out the new play from our friends at the Prospect Theatre Project called The Flick.

We have so much local talent.  To celebrate global talent, please plan on joining your friends at the fabulous historic State Theatre where they present the Red Carpet Film Awards on the big screen.  So glam up Hollywood style and step out and about this weekend, as there is always something good to do in the Modesto Area.

See you out and about and please let me know about other good things happening so we can spread the word.

P.S.  Don’t forget to get your tickets to Willie Nelson, going on sale Friday at 10 am

MAMAView: Opportunities

By Middagh Goodwin

Over the last few years, the Modesto Area Music Association has teamed up with several events and helped create a few new ones to give more opportunities for local talent to perform live. We book over a hundred paying gigs for local musicians each year and hope to increase that number. This year we are teaming up with the homegrown music app Plink, not just to help with the booking process but to increase performers opportunities to play more and get paid. Read More
