ModestoView News Letter

ModestoView Weekly Greeting

Greetings Friends,

WOW! What a weekend. Love Modesto was fantastic and our city is shining.  This is a key reason why our community stands tall.  When you have a volunteer spirit like Modesto does, we can do great things and I and the ModestoViewCrew were proud to be a part of this event.

We are in the 7th inning stretch of April and the Nuts are playing home games, we have fantastic opera Madame Butterfly at the Gallo Center, tasty Modesto Farmer’s Market and we are heading into a weekend where we are Walking A Mile in Her Shoes for Haven Women’s Center.  This is a really important resource in our community and we hope you will join us to raise money and awareness to prevent domestic violence and abuse.  If you are able, please support our team as we put the high heels on this Saturday. Any contribution will help.  Here is our ModestoView/Sierra Pacific team if you are able to help: https://www.firstgiving.com/team/366321.

The streets are alive, the restaurant patios are busy, the parks and bike trails are filled with our people experiencing our community. Get out and enjoy it and don’t forget to check our.modestoview.com calendar before you make plans.

See you out and about.  – Chris Murphy

GEEKView: May the Fourth Be With You

GEEKView: May the Fourth Be With You

By Middagh Goodwin

Since 1977, “May the Force be With You” has been part of the global lexicon. This phrase, created by Modesto native George Lucas symbolizes the magic and influence of his epic film Star Wars, the follow-up film to his breakthrough American Graffiti. Just say “May the 4th Be With You” out loud and you will hear the pun that so many Star Wars fans worldwide have used to proclaim their love of the saga.

NonProfitView: Walk a Mile for Haven

By Chris Murphy

We have no use and there are no excuses for spousal or domestic abuse. Period.
This is something that we all must stand up against and prevent sexual abuse of any kind. We must support those that protect our most vulnerable in our community.  Read More

NewView: Exit Escape Room Adventures Professor Pittsburgh

by Brandilyn Brown of BrewView

You might remember when BrewView went to the Exit Escape Room Adventures, to escape from the “Saloon” room back in March. We had to find the stash of cash from a saloon owner’s illegal poker games and get out of the room within 60 minutes. Read More

FitView: Train Like A Frogman

By Efren Martinez

When we think of a frogman, most of us usually tie that with a Navy Seal. My comparison would be to train similar to one of these heroes if you’re a tri-athlete. Just recently I headed back to the Sea of Cortez for some winter open-ocean training. Read More
