Greetings Friends!
Just returned from the State of the City Speech and it is good to hear that there are some positive developments locally for business and neighborhoods. Modesto is truly great because of our people and the groups that work so hard to make things better. We are lucky to have groups like the LaLoma Neighborhood and the College Area Neighborhood Group that get in there and keep our neighborhoods connected. Make sure you don’t miss the Gala in Graceada this Saturday evening.
But first, tonight is Willie Nelson at the Fruityard and we are all excited for that. Later this week, Bike Week starts and it begins with Ride for Mom on Saturday morning. There are 10, 35 &77 mile rides. You can register here at www.rideformom.com Friday evening, you can see Ryan Hammond, fresh from American Idol and Effie Passero from last year’s Idol show at Modesto High. Great music to hear all over our city.
And finally, it is Mother’s Day on Sunday. Celebrate with those you love and make this day special for all of the Moms out there and also that Dads that are Moms too. We salute you all. Have a great week and weekend and hope to see you out and about.

ComedyView: JP Sears
By Felicia Aleman
Hello, hello, hello Modesto View-ers! April showers are bringing us May shows and there are a lot of them this month.
A highlight is the State Theatre brings YouTube star and stand up comic JP Sears. JP Sears produces videos that parody “new age” living and healthy eating fads. I got to speak to him for a bit on my lunch break from my real job while he was, I assume, at home in Austin, TX massaging his chakras or handpicking the gluten from his bread while wearing his signature purple shirt and flowered headband. (Fun fact: he thinks he has 10 purple shirts, but he can’t be sure because he isn’t very good at math. Read More
