ModestoView News Letter

Greetings Friends!

This week we have the solemn reminder of the events on September 11, 2001.   We all know where we were and those memories are still vivid today.  Please join us on Wed at 9 am at Modesto Fire Station #1 for an hour of remembrance with our first responders.  We will never forget.

It was an amazing weekend, with Grandaddy Music in the Plaza, Friday Nigh Football, and Beatles with Picnic in the Pops.  If you were at any of these events, you can check out our photo galleries, share & tag your friends at www.facebook.com/modestoview

This week, we have some amazing food sampling things to tell you about.  First, the CHS Edible Extravaganza is happening Thursday evening at the Modesto Center Plaza with a huge selection of our local restaurants, caterers and wineries all sampling their tasty treats for a good cause.   Tix are available at the door and you can even win some on our Facebook page.  Mark your calendar for October 8 as the Downtown Modesto Sampler is coming with live music, free shuttles and 25+ downtown eateries showcasing their specialties.  Get your tix now at www.modestosampler.com

This weekend is loaded with good stuff with the legendary and super funny Cheech and Chong at the Gallo Center on Friday, our next edition of Friday Night Lights and Downtown Pride Festival on Saturday, free to all in 10th St Plaza. Sheatherfest will be in Knights Ferry and on Sunday, a new music series begins at Camp 4 featuring Oh Rose and Stop Motion Poetry. To get the full line up for what is happening, go to the best event calendar in the 209 at www.modestoview.com

And finally, the ModestoView and the Sierra Pacific Warehouse Team will be walking for Heart Health on Saturday morning and I hope that you may be able to chip in a bit and support our walk to raise awareness and funds for heart health and research.  You can donate to our team here: http://www2.heart.org/goto/chris_murphy

It is so great to see everyone out and about and enjoying our Modesto area as fall starts to roll in.  Make sure you say hello and hope that you are enjoying your week.  There is so much to do so plan wisely.
Thanks and hope to see you all –  Chris Murphy
