ModestoView News Letter

Greetings Friends!

We are in the twilight of September as we race toward a spooky October.    But have no fear, there is so much happening this week and weekend, it will make your head spin.  FIRST, Sept 26 is the 50th Anniversary of Abbey Road, the greatest album ever recorded, (just sayin’).  50 years! Can you believe it?  So find a zebra cross walk in town, get your family and friends together and make your own Abbey Road crossing and tag your pic #modestoview and we will share it. Speaking of the Beatles, there will be an amazing show at the State Theatre Saturday evening, A Stroll down Penny Lane.  This is a full multi-media and live music show featuring the music of the Beatles and Paul McCartney. It will be a splendid experience that you should not miss.  Get tix at www.thestate.org  Yeah Yeah Yeah.
Read more about it here http://www.modestoview.com/beatleview-stroll-down-penny-lane/

The 2019/20 Gallo Center season opens this week with the legendary Dionne Warwick.  You gotta go hear her hits like Do You Know the Way to San Jose and Say a Little Prayer etc.  It will be fun.  Then on Sat, the SF Comedy Competition finals are at the Gallo Center.  Modesto’s own Anthony K is one of the finalists!  So go cheer him on and show some Modesto pride!

If you love downtown dining like I do, you need to put October 8th on your calendar.  The Downtown Sampler 19 is back! 25 restaurants, 10+ bands, strolling and sipping and free shuttles.  This is the best way to check out all of the tasty treats of downtown, check out the new places and enjoy your faves.  Get your tix this very second at www.modestosampler.com  It is always a fun night in downtown.  #eatlocal #drinklocal #listenlocal

The MAMA Vote is live!  We are getting ready for the 20th Anniversary of the Modesto Area Music Awards. 20 years already? Wow.  Check out the amazing local musical talent and place your vote for your faves. You will be amazed what we have to offer and how special live music makes our community.   Vote now at www.modestoareamusic.com

Well, I know there is something going on that you will like, so take a little tour and I hope to see you out and about somewhere soon.  Make sure to say “Hey”.

Thank you for reading.   – Chris Murphy
