Greetings Red White and You! We are in the middle of the most amazing Graffiti Summer ever. The Modesto Historic Cruise Route is in place and thousands of people from around the world came to enjoy Modesto USA. The stars of American Graffiti were here and spent time on the cruise route of 10th St, the same streets thatwere the genesis George Lucas stories. George Lucas is a great storyteller and the stories he told about Modesto really captured the time. It was all about the stories of a couple people and how we related to each other and the same is still true today. Modesto is about the people. This month, our senior editor Ruben Porras was hit by a car while riding his bike and the love andconcern from the community has been amazing. That is why our July issue is devoted to “You”, the people of Modesto. Every one is a mover and a shaker! Everyone makes their part of Modesto a little bit better and these are the people that we like to celebrate. Whether is is making a lemonade stand, making a concert poster, singing some blues,taking a picture, pouring a great cup of coffee, running a good restaurant, we all do our part to move and shake Modesto. ModestoView is truly a community effort. We have so many great friends here in Modesto and our all of our writers are truly involved in making Modesto a great place to live and we are so fortunate that they take their valuable time to contribute to ModestoView.
