also brings beatmakers to the State Theatre for the Crush Congregation
Beat Battle! The battle takes place on Saturday, November 16th and is
not to be missed!
Sixteen beatmakers will compete against each other in an
elimination-style format, using samples provided by our sponsors. This
year, a new exciting twist: the final round will feature a live beat set
performance battle. The two finalists will present a five-minute
performance LIVE! We’ll also have a special guest performance by
Weezmatic, known for his DJ and beatmaking skills with his crew, “The
Bangerz,” one of the most influential hip-hop collectives in the Bay
Area.
Modesto’s hip-hop scene needs events like this. Over the past decade,
we’ve seen a generational gap in hip-hop culture missing from the
Central Valley, and we want to change that. Both Revibe The Vibe &
Modesto Artists Movement are dedicated to promoting the arts in a
positive and public way. This Beat Battle at the historic State Theatre
provides hip-hop in the 209 the visibility it has never had before.
We’re excited to create future hubs for the next wave of cultural
influencers–whether they be dancers, beatmakers, poets, graffiti
artists, or just enthusiastic young minds in need of creative outlets.
The beatmakers competing in this year’s battle include: MayFlwr95, Ray
V., TOON WRLD, Bennett Vickery, Dripwork, TESEBEATZ IOB, Putrid Beats,
Clouded Kings, JMMYJMMY, K.O, Tpillz, Ddropsbeats, Science, Doomdawiz,
Salacious Wizard Cult, Doni Blu
